That Night We Met

That night we met, I made a bet

That I would never find love again.

I lost that bet after we met.

I thought that no one would want me, since I was a wreck.

That was before we met.

That night we met, I was upset.

Because damn it hurts

When someone you love gives you a shove

And you’re left all alone to moan and groan.

That night we met,

I made a bet

That I would forget all of the regret

And it wouldn’t be a threat,

That night we met.
