NIGHT'A LULLABY

I lay in bed and listen to the sounds of the night

I hear the endless flow of cars

The rumble of the train

The crickets singing an endless lullaby

As time goes on the stars get brighter

The moon dances to the crickets and moves across the sky

The cars slow down

The crickets slowly go to sleep one by one

The coyotes come out and sing their sorrowful song

The cars disappear completely

It is 3 am

All life is asleep
