Nightingale nightingale

Nightingale nightingale

your song so sweet

as every wish of a parent,

to hold a child asleep

Nightingale nightingale

your color so pure

as beautiful as the world

covered in snow, hushed and null

Nightingale nightingale

your flight too short

to grace today

with your everlasting joy

Nightingale nightingale

night is upon you

your song has been cut

your color has dimmed

your flight is done

Nightingale nightingale

off beyond the stars

to where your song can be heard

your color can shine

your flight can soar.
