Nightmare Called Life

I wish I could wake up from this nightmare called life

I try and ignore it sometimes but the same dream keeps reappearing in my head

I close my eyes and all I see is the cool blue waters of the pool ahead of me

I breathe in and out and take a leap and dive in

I feel the coolness of the water and as I try to come above water I notice a struggle

I kick and fight to breathe but the water continues to hold me down

I awake to myself kicking and screaming let me go

And every night I close my eyes I awake to the same thing

Is this the dream of my life… is this what it will become

A struggle to breathe through it

I wish I could wake up from this nightmare called life
