Nightmares

We had nightmares when we were little

Monsters with heads of three

But what happens when these dreams

Start to merge with reality?

Homework chasing you through a hall

Deadlines everywhere you run

Your one true talent is procrastination

The amount of sleep you get is none.

Responsibilities weighing on your back

the thought of college scares you straight

beginning to study at 12 o’clock

like this test grade determines your fate.

Falling down a hole of thoughts

Change is your biggest fear

Tired of overthinking

Could take a nap for a year.

You finally breathe a sigh of relief

Once your pillow hits your head

nightmares can happen in your sleep

but some begin when you get out of bed.
