Nightmares

Night after night, I somehow find myself

Closer to you than I have ever felt.

The time spent with you seems eternal.

I feel as if I know everything about you

Even when you don't speak.

I feel as if I am intimate with you

Even when we don't touch.

Such things only exist in my dreams

Where my dreams turn into nightmares.

In reality, I never knew you at all.

My nightmares soon dismissed my reality,

Only embracing hope and happiness

Within my dreams.

I have become addicted to my nightmares.
