Nightmares
What of the shadow that moves through the trees?
The darkness you're not sure you've seen.
A movement, a whisper, an eerie stiff breeze
A nothingness, nightmare, a dream.
A flickering horror who jumps in the night,
A demon who feeds on your fears.
The product of irrational childhood fright,
A monster who thirsts for your tears.
A thought and a worry,
A small seed of doubt-
planted deep in your mind it will grow.
But maybe I'm wrong, and it is just a branch..
It could just be a shadow you know.
