Nightmares

Shattered
Little droplets of my heart
Splatter on the floor
Mixed with splinters
Of my sanity
I grasp the edge
As I sink
Melting under the
Pressure
A spoonful of acid
Replacing the sugar
Burning my skin
My eyes blinded
By the blackness
Of my soul
I watch the
Deep dark red blood
Drips onto
The page

Veins intruded
With rusty silver
Fingernails scratching at
The back of my neck
Violent screams
Cries for help
Penetrate my ears
I am the only
One who can hear
The stench of decay
Seeps through my nostrils
And I am overtaken
With grief
Only to open my eyes
And find
This nightmare is
All too real

Writing
Sharing
Letting out
All these
Feelings
Tears
Blur the paper
But this nightmare is
finally put to rest
