Nights Like These

The story is really so simple
look up in the silent dark sky
and watch the stars pass by
like beacons of hope for all the lost souls
flashing and flickering
in the endless night sky

Tendrils of moonlight
seeping through
a breath of silver
a breath of fire
like frozen memory
like a haunting desire

Now watch again
in the dead of the night
when your spirit glides
and the sun resides
as the sky casts it’s glimmering beams
smudging all your tarnished dreams
