Nighttime Favorite
Your dark brown eyes were my favorite thing to look at every night.
It was like they gave me light to shine over my darkened day.
And every time we spent time together, I always wanted to stay because you made me feel like everything was okay, even if they weren't.
Though I only known you for a fews days, it feels like years, and I don't want to rush and switch gears, by telling you I miss you.
But I do.
I miss you so much, that all I can think about is you.
I can close my eyes to see darkness under my eyelids, but all I can see is you brightening my vision as if I was looking at the sun with my eyes closed.
And sometimes I hold my pillow at night, wishing it was you.
I hold them so tight, because I feel as if I don't hold them tight enough, I'm scared that I'll lose them, like I'm scared of losing you.
And I just want to hold your hand, just to feel the butterflies in my belly, and for my body to feel like jelly from your hugs.
But at night, all I want to see is the glow of your dark brown eyes.
Not only because they are my favorite, but because nothing else was more beautiful.
