Nirvana

A nirvana of today is caused by marijuana

Its necessity driven by the hardships of life

A teen’s escape from agony, pressure and strain

Although for some say it may keep them sane, it could also break them

Window pane

Teens deny the potential for shattering

Considered to be the drug with the least amount of battering

The desire to be popular, as strong a drug as any

Acceptance from others make some sell their life as if it were worth naught but a penny

Curiosity killed the cat as they say

The impulse to try something so idolized, may not be able to be kept at bay

The first try is almost never the last

Pandora's box

The evils from within spread quickly

Smallpox

Once… once a year…once a month

From what was just a fun soiree has become a necessity every day

The illusion of self-restraint starts to decay and die away

The drug they once reveled has started to betray

Led astray

A life of successes starts to fade away

Marijuana is like sugar

Milky Way

Effects invisible until damage done

Tooth decay

The conundrum of every teenager; get away or follow the fray

And here I stand at my own crossroad, isn’t it cliche?

I know the horrors that lie beneath

Yet I can still see myself obey and let its high just carry me away
