No Filter

I am no filter..
no selfie angle
or color addition
can express my "no filter"

I am reserved,
yet outgoing.
I am a people person,
without any ignorance showing.

I am average,
yet unlike no other.
I am timid,
yet aggressive.

My profile picture may show this,
but a conversation with me will show that.
my generation needs to take it back..
to when there were no filters.

I am unique,
and empowering.
I smile with no regrets,
and hold the biggest problems yet.

I am passionate,
yet lack confidence.
I am outspoken,
yet I hold my tongue.

I am the kid with braces,
Whose words sound deep without an edit.
The one who has prefers no filter,
so I can show how my life goes.

I am an old camera,
having to shake the picture for color.
With the bright flash and rod.
The one with no filter option, oh how my peers would find that odd.

I dance and sing,
and scream when no one can hear.
Behind the Instagram picture,
I am no filter, and wish to disappear.

With a filter you portray a fake image,
of someone you wish to be.
With no filter,
you show who you are indeed.

I am different,
but also one in the same.
I live with no filter,
and I cannot be changed.
