No Fliter

I am nothing

But everything at the same time

I am the little light

In the dark corner

Ready to burst and illuminate the room

Yet the darkness is overwhelming

So I hide behind a shield of indiscretion

Often turned into oppression

Every time I fall I learn a new lesson

I am a boy

No, a young man

Born to lose

Built to win

I am the sheered amongst flock

Though I cannot fly

The birds yet follow

I am a Lion

Hear me roar

And tremble for I am

Power not physically

But mentally

Watch me as I take the hyena

Of stereotypes by the neck

With my jaws ripping apart

The nature of the beast

I am a black boy

Shunning the reality that was given to me

Knocking down the obstacles in front of me

To achieve anything I set my mind to

I am without a filter
