A person can not be seen for who they truly are by

the color of their skin

Where they are from

how they look

Predetermined characteristic can lead to many problems

Stress from trying to live up to the expectation

Sadness from failing to live up to the expectation

Before making a judgment

Think

Think about the affect the stereotype will have on the person

Think about how one can be more than they seem

Positive stereotype

Negative stereotype

Both go hand and hand and can cause an equal amount of pain

Pain from trying 

Trying to either change the stereotype or the pain of trying to succeeding

I am Black 

Black can sometimes be viewed as dangerous or unpredictable

But I disagree and wish it wouldn’t be like that

Black can sometimes be a gift with the idea that we are all athletic and strong

but that’s a lot of unwanted pressure 

the way I want to be viewed by is 

from my actions

by my character

how I treat other people 

by my Accomplishments

I want to be judged on by the things I can control 

not by what I was born with 

as the saying goes

Don’t judge a book by it’s cover

Open it up and read it and it’ll blow your mind with the things you will find

Never place a label on someone because you never know the effect it’ll have on them
