No Labels (9/29/12)
I constantly get asked; Are you straight, bi, or gay?
I pause…sometimes not knowing what to say.
I’m like, well I want a nice, beautiful, fun girl
To enrich my life and make me feel like we can rule the world
So you’re gay?
Not necessarily…wouldn’t mind a boy for some fun & games…
Some have provided just games,
Not saying no names
So you’re bi?
Well no, I can’t really see myself with any kind of guy
You won’t know ‘til you try
Try what? Some meat?
Pssh…that’s not the only thing there is to eat.
Why put labels on love?
Then, you’re unable to rise above
People need to stop being so close minded
Passing down information that is misguided
This is a gateway for ignorance to be invited
What about the…Pansexuals, transsexuals, bulldaggers, bottoms, tops, studs, femmes,
There are plenty more than just them.
There must be a name for a girl who wouldn’t mind a sexual relationship with a boy, but very much wants a romantic relationship with a girl
We have names for everything.
Whatever happened to just being individuals?
Why must we assign nametags to everything…We come in different variations
Our DNA are all different, So there can’t just be 3 categories
What about the billions of personal stories?
What about the man, who’s now a woman, but is dating a man…Is he gay or straight?
I’ll give you a minute to contemplate
I get heated because of how this topic is mistreated
People say that I’m confused, But just refuse to be a part of inaccurate labels
Call someone out their name, see how quick they will be to turn the tables.
