No Letting Go
Oh father,
I ponder about you everyday
I miss you so much
the time we shared together was restricted
but that did not terminate my endearment
You were not a stranger to me
Grandma made sure of that
You were my everything and you still are
Oh father,
when I heard of you passing away
a heavy burden fell upon my heart
I thought to myself
what's a girl to do without her father
Oh father,
I knew that day would come, but
why so soon
we still had more memories to fulfill
Oh father,
though, you are no longer with me here on Earth
I still have a huge place for you in my heart
Oh father,
I do not have one picture of the two of us together
I wish I did
But, hey I remember all the times we spent together,
the drawings you made of me,
Pooh Bear,
and I even remember our favorite song
"No Letting Go"
I'll never let go of you
You left a piece of you behind
Me,
look to my face and you shall see
I was only eleven when you went to heaven
I am now a young adult
heading off to college
but it's all right
You live within me
I love you daddy
Everything I do is for you
