No Longer

No longer

do I hear the war drums,

No longer

do I march with the beat,

For now, I sit

In a room full of optimism,

Where stories are told

Of opportunities past,

Of dreams untold,

As the hurts unfold

and the future seems a distant,

for I am just one

of many in this room,

but I am not a victim,

only a warrior in the now,

And with that thought

I will have the victory!
