No Longer A Little Girl

Mom, Dad, I need your help,

Nothing but silence fills the air,

Nobody came at a drop of a dime,

Instead, they chased after my baby sister who cried.

Yesterday, I received a check for $100, something that could’ve lasted me what seemed like years at the age of five,

Today, I blinked and it was gone with the payment of a phone bill,

In 2010, I faced Barbie dolls, today I face bills, today I face college, today I face living alone, today I face adulthood.
