No Love is Enough Love

Looking at me:

with his Ohio sky blue eyes

and while the sun danced

in those perfect pepper freckles atop his cheeks

he told me,

he wanted me.

& then I left him.

For reasons to long for a poem.

His kiss; so powerful and breath taking

created the rings of Saturn behind

my closed eyelids.

& then he gave me one,

& I rejected it.

For reasons I need not discuss.

It is because of him

that I do not believe in true love

because his was the truest love you could find

& yet it wasn't enough for us.
