No Love in Return
So much
and too many;
all the friends I've ever had
and all of those I've felt for.
I have loved numerous souls.
My naïve heart wanted to be with people I never knew.
It has never experienced love
and it has never been loved.
The truth that I'll never find happiness
burns my imagination.
It injects it's sickening facts into my sore brain.
I've wept and still weep.
The frigid winds of loneliness
killed off all the ardent hope inside.
I have loved plenty,
but never have I been loved by any.
