No Mask Required

A fake pretty glass has been placed on top of society

Highlighting beauty and accentuating our best qualities

Yet as we emphasize the importance of looking our best

Our personality, interests, and complexions become repressed

My passion for the outdoors remains pure and clean

I am a rock climber at heart and a runner for sport

Rather than filters, enhancements, and picture editing machines

I rely on my sweat and my dirt caked face as an accurate report

The rough cracked holds and piercing, pinching fingertips

Stretching myself against the wall, conquering each new route

The environment grows quiet, and no one else exists

Incredible heights, beauty at the zenith, this is what climbing's all about

Climbing is raw, unrefined, and puts you in new places

There’s more to just technique, it goes against social norms

It is free of negative opinions and judging faces

I'm free to be myself, no one can tell me to conform

Running and climbing go hand in hand

They're organic activities that anyone can understand

The goal isn't too finish, only to test patience, and grow a strong heart

No burdens placed upon me, as far from finish as from start

True purpose and meaning should be the given drive

False accomplishments and appearances will only leave the heart deprived

My desire and passion is that strong burning fire

Only my true self, No Mask Required
