No mom no mom

I sat beside the garden hose,

trying ot stick it up my nose.

But mom said no, you'll hurt yourself

Dad said no, go clean myself.

I dismally walked from that place,

with a slight grunge on my face,

while mumbling quietly all the way,

why oh why won't you let me play?

No mom no mom, I grumbled low.

No dad no dad, to tell me no.

I can't wait for the day they when can't boss me,

I can't wait for the day that I'll be free.

Years had passed and I was grown

the finally got to leave the town.

To college I went, to become revered

and on the whole way I cheared

No mom no mom, I cheared so high.

No dad no dad, I waived goodbye.

The day has come, they can't boss me,

The day has come, now I'll be free.

Forward I went, my hopes on fire,

only to face life's cold desire.

To beat me down and break my crown,

to teach me what it means to frown.

If only I had the open heart,

to watch my parents do their part.

Life is hard but they did well,

Why was it so hard to tell?

But now,

No mom no mom, I cry real low.

No dad no dad, to tell me no.

The day has come, they can't boss me,

Yet the day never came, that I am free.
