To borrow a line from good Stephan King,

In a world that drinks sugar

How is war even a thing?

To children in grade school subjected to

The cutthroat coliseum,

What messages do we construe?

Be smarter, be faster, be better than

Everyone around you and

Maybe you'll be something grand.

With these teaching in mind, one must think

How better to buoy myself

Then watch my comrades sink.

Granted, to be grand would be great.

But to be above the world,

Drowning's a less lonely fate.

What if school wasn't a competition

But rather a painting, each

Child an essence of pigmentation.
