No One Cares

The smiles you see

Are far from me.

My eyes face your direction,

My head is paying no attention.

I tell you my name,

You follow the game.

We exchange biographies.

You leave like I meant nothing.

I leave regretting the entire thing.

When it comes down to it,

People want it simple.

They want a happily ever after.

None want the reality

Heating inside of me.
