No one gets the point

It wasn't the sound of her voice

Or the hesitation in yours

Or the excuse you gave

The sloppy slide of hand

You thought I wouldn't notice

The lack of thought

The inconsideration of my experience

My intelligence

The egotistical assumptions

But never you mind

No one ever gets the point anyway
