No One Told Me

No one told me that it would be this hard

To not hold you

To not smile

To not have you

To not feel you

To not kiss you

But to love you from afar

While you’re in the arms of another

You don’t know how I feel

You don’t know that I wonder what it would be like

To hold you

To smile

To have you

To feel you

To kiss you

I didn’t know when I met you that you would

consume my every thought

I didn’t know that when I thought about a

future without you in it, I would feel as if my

world would stop turning

I didn’t know that every time I saw your face

my breath would hitch, my heart would pound

I didn’t know that I would love you

No one told me that I would fall so deeply

in love with you that I would never find my

way back onto my feet
