Not Worthy, Worthless

Teacher, teacher please
See beyond my pale blue eyes
Teacher, teacher please
I'm begging on my knees
My smile is an evil trick
It curves upward at
different angles
to hide the shame
to hide the embarrassment
Teacher, teacher please
Can't you see past my lies
I can't see past my worthlessness
Why do you pretend to accept me
as if I have meaning and purpose
My dreams kill me inside
I am a prisoner
I am an object
Mister,
I have no use
Misses,
I have no function
Teacher, teacher please
Don't fill my head with lies
I'm slowly dying inside
Don't call my name
and expect an answer
Don't stare down at me
and claim to see potential
There is no prize
Hidden and untapped
There is nothing to find
There is nothing inside
