No Real Superheroes

Although I am young I have not been oblivious to one of the main situations in the world. I knew and witnessed how ignorant people were and chose to be. I saw numerous recorded interactions when someone innocent lost their life because they were either  a person of color, or a person wearing clothing tied to their religion, or a person who didn’t speak English, Even if they did nothing wrong,  even if they were just walking home, even if they begged for their life, or they just wanted to go home to their soon-to-be-wives. But I just find it hilarious that human beings who have jobs.. that were recently made to protect  other humans from danger are the main ones putting us in it so to all my peers who ask me why I spend so much time with my nose stuck in a book its because I rather read-about kids having telekinetic abilities and electric manipulation powers than get on social media and having to a  see another kid lose a battle they couldn’t prepare for. A battle against a bullet, a battle against cuffs, a battle behind bars. Oh that’s just called the system. I rather read than get  on the social media and having to see the after math of a lost battle and it looks a lot like  mother crying , letting tear drops, drop onto the surface of her child’s dead corpse , see I rather get lost in a fictional world where radioactive spiders could turn an individual half spider half man and a  fictional world where a man is worthy enough and could carry a heavy hammer would save us from intergalactic threats than get lost in the real world of constant fear and having to constantly hear the sounds of mothers hearts breaking through the words for a eulogy. See, when my nose was stuck in a book or digital comic I could get lost in a world where black people are seen as superheroes and I didn’t have to think about how the world is systematically built against me. But my mom is a black Women living in America and she has showed me an innumerable amount of times that  superheroes have nothing black Women period, but still black panther, storm, miles morales, black lightening and black women from all over the world showed me countless of times that my blackness is beautiful, That my blackness is all that and a bag of chips, my blackness will always be the 2 cents you didn’t asks for, it’s the hairstyles you can’t rock , the food you can’t cook, them dance moves you can’t imitate, the heroes that you look up to especially after the movie black panther because I peeped when all you Tyson’s tried to turn into Tyrones; wanting to disappear into black cloaks but couldn’t last a day in black skin. You know why Bruce Wayne wears a black suit that doesn’t cover all of his face? Because he wants the police to know that he’s white but that doesn’t matter because at this point I’m getting ready to get lost in a world where there is a hero in a nitinol suit, a hero with a shield made from vibranuim, a hero that gets huge and turns green when he’s mad, a raccoon that speaks, a man that can shrink himself and talk to ants and a silver dude who rides on a silver board and travels the galaxies because believing in superhero’s and people actually brave enough to protect us is much more easier than believing in a silly fantasy like justice or peace.
