No Shame

There should be no shame

In hurting, in caring about those that hurt,

In needing help, in feeling responsible for your hurt.

But there is shame

In hurting, in caring for those that hurt,

In needing help, in feeling responsible for your hurt.

There is a stigma.

There has been for as long as I can remember.

Because as far back as I can remember

Is when the world told me I wasn’t good enough.
