No Validation Needed

Every morning I wake up;

I Shower,

Put on my nice panties, suit, and tie.

I make sure my nails are cute,

Pink, and green.

I brush my teeth and hair,

And I end my routine with a little makeup

Just to cover the blemishes from stress of the day before.

I walk outside,

And the laughs, stares, and whispering begins.

But it doesn’t bother me,

Because I’m comfortable in the skin I’m in.

I don’t need validation

Through laughing, staring, and whispering about someone else.

I actually love the person

That stares back at me in the mirror

When I take the makeup, clothes, and colorful nails off.

Do you?
