No words..
they call me the dirt beneath their feet
the shadow behind their backs
how can I live
breath
eat and even
sleep with the thought of being nothing by people who are nothing
My steaming tears couldn't wash the dark pattern of my skin away
the beatings of verbal abuse couldn't scorn my skin away
I am stuck , for life?
I ask the only man in my life
WHY?
God, why must my flesh be so white but so dark?
Now grown and now once having wet tears
they have dried
I realize this bautiful skin is the sweetest skin of all
This is who I am.
The melanin that pours from my soul to my skin, into my heart is why I am happy.
I am Beautiful
I Am Beautiful
I am Beautful
