No Words
There used to be no words.
There used to be shrugs
moving the attention away.
There used to be tears
swallowing down
a plea.
There used to be silence
masking the bleak
heart that was trapped
inside.
There used to be no words
to describe the feelings
that seemed too big
for one body
to hold.
If no words were found,
something
was sure
to break.
Then one day
in front of a window
on an open page
the words came.
They started as ink blots
and ended in
words.
Ended in
life.
To write,
to find words,
to bring life to pain
and love
and life itself
is to truly live.
There used to be no words,
no life.
Now I have both.
