To a noble man, better than myself

Dear Alexander,
It has been sometime since we've last spoken, I see now I was in the wrong, And want to mend our bond that's broken, A bond between father and son.
I was in error all along, When I made you feel like no one, Like you weren't loved, but you were strong, My brave Alexander.
I recall when you were a child, having fun, With your siblings, playing commander, Alexander, the boy who would help and protect anyone, I do hope you'll remember.
I raised you to be candor, Like you showed me on that night in Demember, When I fell victim to believing slander. I still love you, Alex, my ambitious Ace
A bond between father and son, My brave Alexander, I do hope you'll remember, I still love you, Alex, my ambitious Ace
With deepest concerns, Edward, your father
