Nobody

Poems based on Nobody by the script

1

How do you ruin the person you love more than anything in the world?

2

Is it possible to crush the soul of another while simultaneously killing yourself?

3

I loved her with a burning passion that was hotter than the rays of the sun on a hot sunny day

I loved her so completely that the love bubbled over the edges of the flooding pool that is my heart

I loved her with a warmth that could only be explained as sitting next to fireplace on a cold day cuddled up with your favorite person

I loved her without bounds and with the magnitude of the entire universe with each brilliant shining star

I loved her without the hesitation you get before going onstage to sing a song that you aren't fully confident in

I loved her suddenly and without the warning you would get in the form aid a horn as a truck nearly crushes you in the road

I loved her more than I could ever love anything in this world

But I fucked up

4

Isn't it funny?

Sometimes without realizing it, you can ruin everything.

5

Alcohol

Oh alcohol

A gift

Or a burden

A blessing

Or a curse

6

It was July the sun was beating down harshly on her pale porcelain skin

She was like an angel, brilliant and pale with her shining gold locks gleaming in the bright light

I was in awe of her entire existence

How can one person be so damn perfect?

7

It was late

The sky was dark and nearly pitch black, no stars were shining

The eerie feeling in my gut wouldn't leave me as it twisted about

The sky was an omen, I should have realized

Darkness kills the light

Black is the color of doom

8

I was drinking

Drinking too much

That was my first mistake

9

Shot

Shot

Shot

Down

Down

Down

Fuck

How could I lose her?

10

I don't remember what happened that night, there is a hole in my memory.

How do you get to the point that there is only blackness, no memory?

11

A blackout

It never should have happened.

I could smell the stench of beer as I gulped it down.

I felt the burn of the shots as they glided down my throat.

It was too much.

I knew I should have stopped.

I could hear the music pounding around the crowded space.

I could see the people dancing with each other, grinding-dirtily.

Why didn't I stop?

I should have stopped.

12

Waking up is the worst part

The pounding in your head like a sledgehammer being repeatedly smashed against your skull.

The dryness of your throat that like the entire Sahara desert was shoved down with no mercy.

The lack of memory and the horror as you try to recall something-anything, but only blackness remains.

The dread when you look to your side and realize the person lying beside you isn't who it should be.

13

She won't talk to me, not even a single word. There are only tear filled stares as she sobs in her room glancing out the window.

She won't answer my calls, not even one of the dozen. She simply presses the big red button and continues to cry into her memory foam pillow.

She can't look at me, even as she glances out the window with pain and tear filled eyes her stare is brief and can not hold my own.

14

I want to hate her for hating me.

But I can't.

It's all my fault.

15

"I loved and I lost"

I hate that saying

Why must we lose?
