Nobody Help Me
Nobody help me
I can do this on my own.
Don’t let anyone see
I’ll just put on a show.
The listening ears
And pleasing impression.
In reality, all a façade.
If truth be told, I’m a coward
Simply scared that I’ll end up alone.
If they see that it’s me
Will they run? Will they flee?
I’ll just hide so we’ll never know.
But the fear, worry, and distractions,
My own dissatisfaction
With the very person that I am.
It’s deafening.
All the demons within,
How I wrestle with the sin
That’s buried deep inside me.
Don’t let them see
The monster I’d be
If I show them who I really am
But now to change all those thoughts.
One more question for the pot,
Are the voices I hear indeed true?
They say I’m fat, stupid, lazy
So it gets a bit hazy,
I can’t see what’s really going on.
But just take a step back,
Take a break.
Take a breath.
Get perspective that’s new,
That’s fresh.
Now to get out of my head,
Finally pull back that curtain,
To once and for all truly break free.
To show the world the person that I was made to be.
