Nobody Told Me
Growing up has meant something different to me. It’s something internal, the things you can’t see.
My appreciation for my family and the that pride I have, the only ones on bad days to make me laugh.
And when my life gets so jaded, and crazy, and faded, I look back at all times and thank God that I made it.
Nobody told me growing up would be so hard. Nobody told me I would have many losses of heart.
Nobody told me I would lose a lot of friends. Nobody told me kiddie things must come to an end.
Those I can’t wait till I’m 18 so I can party all night, turns to dang I’m so tired how many more battles to fight.
Nobody tells you the truth about how real things get. Nobody tells you that when the going gets tough you’re the first one to jet .
Nobody has a serious conversation and tells you to take a seat. That’s for you and life to handle when you two meet.
Nobody tells you you’ll have breakdowns and need a break. They won’t say lifes not linear and never straight.
And while I’m growing up I have no idea where I’ll go, but I know that growing up and glowin up isn’t no joke.
And as I grow up and look out into the world, I realize I’m just a scared little girl.
