NOBODY TOLD ME ANYTHING

Hello tomorrow

Goodbye yesterday

To all of my expectations

What a price I had to pay

I thought the world was on my side

I really did play the fool

You roasted me among the stars

You broke the Golden Rule

So what's in store for me now?

I'm just sitting here killing time

Stabbing it right through the heart

I wish it wasn't mine

Everyday I sit and wonder

How I ended up this way

But there never seems to be an answer

There is nothing left to say

I can't imagine how I did such wrong

For my fate to turn so bad

Was I screwing up unconsciously

In the emotional life I had

Was it all calculated

Arranged from the very start

Did you really have this planned out

To try to break my heart?

Well, discomfort you did bring me

And misfortune swang my way

But I seem all right to function

I can still make it through the day

If you really wanted to hurt me

You should have done it to my face

Because at least I'd seen your eyes

As I passed you in this race

So Goodbye to yesterday

And Hello tomorrow again

I will never let this break me

I remember a girl back then

Who was beautiful and excited

Thinking every wish would come true

And I'm not about to give in

To the likes of you!
