She will become a hashtag
Before she becomes a symbol of beauty
Her melanin skin
Is a warning sign
That has CAUTIOUS
flashing in big red lights
she's not a force to be reckoned with
She has tree branches for hands
Her roots are stretched so far into the earth
She sees Mother Nature on a Daily
This woman is a mistaken identity
She wears targets as head pieces
And walks on eggshells
Her beauty is nothing more than ordinary
Because her pigmentation will always be deemed not good enough
This woman is the embodiment of beauty
American expectations
Have limited her beauty
Into a hashtag
She will be nothing more than 4 lines
And meaningless labels
Despite that in ancient Egypt
Beauty was thick hips and
skin that dripped of melanin
But we're not in ancient times and melanin is nothing but the step sister of America
