Ever since I was young,

school was a struggle for me.

My peers and friends don't see

how difficult it was.

They assumed I was smart

because of my ethnicity.

Was it just me.

Was I a default to the human society?

My heart

sank from knowing I was not who they wanted me to be.

I lied.

I lied.

I smiled and laughed and enjoyed my life in school,

just like a fool.

Wanting the best for me, I believed.

But, everyday when I went home I wept

Wept because of fear,

wept because of my insecurities,

not knowing what to do.

This side of me no one has seen.

Not even me.
