Behind the painted mask on my face

I am a girl with dreams that I will conquer one day.

I am shy, but outgoing to those that are close.

I am friendly but reserved to those I don't know.

I am self consious in my own self,

sometimes I feel like just another book on a dusty shelf.

I do not feel as I should have to wear this mask,

but I shy away from the judgemental eyes that I cannot escape.

I love to read, write, and sing, but only few know.

I don't choose to share everything that I do,

but God I worship through and through.

Behind the painted mask on my face,

I am beautiful in my very own unique way.
