#nofilter

Without my filters

you see the real me

a young man fighting

to fit in with the norms of society

Sometimes I put on a fake smile

just so no one will ever ask

but I yearn for the place

where I can take off my mask

The real me is unique

I am one of a kind

from sports to photography to literature

there is always something on my mind

Without any filters

I express who I really am

what I'm truly feeling

no longer closed like a clam

My real sounds

all have true meaning

not a word wasted

no filter intervening

Without any filters

I am forced to express

who I really am

not forced to impress.
