#NoFilter Scholarship Slam

I look into the mirror with cold and fearful eyes,

She stairs fiercely back at me,

There’s nowhere I can hide.

The glass feels heavy in my hand,

I launch it at the wall.

The mirror crumbles just like sand,

Shattering as it falls.

The reflection gone at last,

I’m finally free,

To keep my lies trapped in the past.

Wash off the makeup,

Change out of those flashy clothes,

It’s time for a shake up,

Let everybody know.

I’m more than what is on the outside,

I’m more than the price tag on my clothes,

My true side, no longer shall I hide.

I love lacrosse and I never party,

I’m more like Ken,

And less like Barbie.

But I don’t have to hide that from them.
