NoFilter Slam

Today, selfies fuel our judgment Our looks and status depend on them, thanks to filters The constant pictures creates knots in my stomach I, for one, don’t need to be a status builder Only I decide who I can be I live life in my own way My looks and style do not define me I don’t need my life to be put on display Without filters I am free I am neither in disguise nor in hiding When judged, I feel the need to flee But there are those who choose to have pride As I walk I am not judged I may seem ordinary My need for filters hasn’t budged To me it all just seems imaginary No one should tell me who I should be Filters can change you in seconds flat The one who makes those choices is me If no one agrees then they should scat I don’t have a Facebook page Nor do I have a blog People have one to become part of the age I’d rather be in the light than in the fog
