#NoFliter
#NoFilter: Who Am I?
Beneath all the make-up, the mascara and the blush,
There lies the heart of a fighter, one that beats faster with every adrenaline rush.
Beneath all these clothes lies the body of a teenage girl, scraped and bruised,
There lies scars on my hips that are permanently rouged.
Beneath this thick skin, there is a mind constantly at work,
The insomnia I get is definitely not a perk.
Beneath my skull is a brain that while not large, the knowledge is vast,
I have learned a lot of valuable lessons in my past.
Under my torso are short little legs that have carried me far,
From playing sports, every 5 inches of them are blessed with a scar.
All over my skin, there are imperfections, things that make me, me.
Who I am, is who I made myself, not who people have made me to be.
My skin is thick, my heart is strong, my eyes have cried many tears,
As we get older it’s just something that happens through the years.
On my stomach, just above my navel, there lies a scar,
The stories behind scars are one more thing that makes you who you are.
Who are you without a filter? The you you know you can be?
Be that you all the time, the you everybody likes to see.
I want to be the one my little sister looks up to, the one people can trust,
the person people think I am isn’t really me, it’s just the one they see, it’s just my crust.
