Nomad
I want to go everywhere
I want to see everything
I want to feel the sun’s warmth
Blanketing my skin
I want to run away
And rediscover you
Every day
I want half melted popsicles at the beach
I want to know that happiness is within my reach
I want to be the little spoon
And lay in bed with you
I want to crawl inside your temples
And live in your head
See the world through your windows
And read every book you’ve ever read
Next I’ll slide down your throat
And into your heart
Maybe I’ll build myself a nice cozy fort
I’ll camp out there til’ you’re sick of me
And when you are
I will thank you for your shelter
Then I will pack my belongings
And be happy to leave.
But before I’m gone I might hop down to your toes
Give you a tickle that you’ll feel in your nose
I will look down at the cold concrete
And stop to appreciate the worn soles of your feet
And all the adventures that they’ve taken you on
Some with me, some maybe not
And once I’ve left, I’ll think of all the things you’ve let me see
And the better person you made me be
But with my chin up, I’ll strap on my travelin’ shoes
They cost me a lifetime, I’d better put them to good use
Because all we’ve all got is time to lose
And I’m just glad I got to lose some of my time
With youre)
