Nonchalant by: Jaay Dee Kayy

I try to hide the parts of me that's vulnerable,

If it's not exposed, then I won't be exposed,

Don't get me wrong, I do have a heart for you,

And I just don't want you to think my heart is cold;

Turn you off... You're just that special to me,

You and I cannot deny that we have chemistry,

But both of us are trying to hide it, and it's not working for me,

Just know I won't lower my standards, I was taught to be a queen;

And I won't sit and wait for you, if you leave then I won't stay for you,

GOD has made the way for me, and just maybe my way's with you,

Don't mean to put this weight on you... but you can't deny it,

I light your world when you see me, and our darknesses can't hide it,

So if I seem nonchalant, it's because I act unaffected...

But GOD commanded me not to lie, and I won't lie, my heart's wrecking,

We both know I tried to try, but I feel your response was reckless,

Sat and meditated on it, and my heart felt wretched;

But we know how we feel, and everyone else does too,

The word love is strong, but my heart's uplifted and waiting for you.
