Normal

When you hear the word

NORMAL

You think

Of the common man or woman

You think

Of nothing special

Just plain, the "Average Joe"

What Society expects us to be, right?

But

What you cannot see

Is that in reality

What you believe to be Normal

May not be Normal to someone else

Society tries

To pin labels on us

Like we are

Unorganized items

In a box or a drawer

Needing to be categorized and managed.

Too Often

Do we depict the term

NORMALITY

As the image

Society portrays it to be.

You know what I say?

"FUCK YOU SOCIETY!"

Forget what it says.

NORMAL

Is no longer a

CLASSIFICATION

It is a

WORD

used to describe us ALL

To Society

We may not all be

NORMAL

But to us,

We Are.

The Constitution states:

"We the people of the United States..."

WE

as in

ONE. Whole. People.

There were no labels then

And there shouldn't be

A Label now....

We are all NORMAL people.

Why can't Society see that?

This poem is about:
Me
My family
