Normal Kids
Change is scary I've been told.
But I think it's best if we change as we get old.
Because. We have to move on from the past. Move forward and move fast.
We can't let our past self control us anymore because we'll just get brought down once more.
It may have been hard at the start but look at us now we're smart.
We see further than what our eyes see.
We comprehend more than what was on the books we were forced to read.
We learned that life isn't what they teach us in school. That just because you're popular there doesn't mean you're cool.
I thought I had the world in my hands until it fell apart and now I'm here picking up the pieces part by part.
I'm trying to change.
Trying to shine. Trying to be better and have someone be proud to say "she's mine"
I see my sisters cry at night.
I know they miss our home.
I want them to be safe and i can't say more than "we might"
I try to be the mom they need but I just can't seem to succeed.
I'm just as broken as they are maybe more.
My mom has changed she's falling apart.
What she once thought she could handle has now broken her heart.
My mother knew what was best but blinded herself from seeing the rest.
She hurts she begs and pleads.
But momma I'm sorry this is where it all had to lead.
You didn't realize what was happening.
You tried to ignore the fact that I was in danger and now you can't even handle your anger.
My sisters needed you and you left they cry at night and try to fight.
Mimi where's mom I miss her and her hugs.
They baby cries in sadness when she sees mom leave and I wonder what did any of us to deserve this.
We just wanted to grow up as normal kids.
