Like a Normal Star

Barely noticed Very bright, looking for somewhere to land yet still traveling so far. My flesh burning breaking down, leaving pieces of me behind I shine so bright, yet I'm barely noticed I am nothing but one in a billion A burning rock, slowly disintegrating inside Passed down from generation to generation Being used up Looking for that special something and never finding it I am not God I cannot grant your "wish upon a shooting star" I am like a normal star I shine so bright, yet I'm barely noticed.
