The Northern Hill

The snow whirs over the cliff

The clouds are dark

With beauty, passion, and love

Stars passing in the night

A halo made

From a sliver of golden light

Reflected from the last light of day

The rush of the frozen air

Hits my lungs full on

The distinctive, sharp crunch

Of the ice as it splits

I go my way

They goes theirs

Eventually we loop in front of each other

And create a loose, untied figure-8

I start again

The sky partially illuminated by the diamond stars

The gleam radiates off the snow

Ice has formed once again

The clouds are dark

With desire, temptation, and loss

A shift in the weather

A change in life
